IRIS FMP is pleased to announce that our chosen charity of the year will be Huntington’s Disease Association. The charity is close to our hearts at IRIS FMP, so we are proud to be raising money for such a great cause.
Huntington’s disease is an illness caused by a faulty gene in your DNA. If you have the disease, it affects your body’s nervous system – the network of nerve tissues in the brain and spinal cord that coordinate your body’s activities.
Huntington’s can cause changes with movement, learning, thinking, and emotions. Once symptoms begin, the disease gradually progresses, so living with it means having to adapt to change, taking one day at a time.
“We are proud to be raising money for Huntington’s this year. At IRIS FMP we understand the devastating effects that Huntington’s can have on those affected and their loved ones and want to be able to contribute to a fantastic charity that is helping them.” Justin Cottrell, CEO of IRIS FMP
IRIS FMP will be collecting money for the charity throughout the year, hosting many events to reach a target we have set of £25,000.
The biggest charity event of the year will be our big bike ride from Paris to Chichester that we will be inviting our employees to volunteer to participate in, in order to help raise as much money as possible for completing this gruelling task.
“We are delighted to be working with employees of IRIS FMP over the coming year of our charity partnership. The support of IRIS FMP means we can continue our work supporting people and families affected by Huntington’s disease offering them practical information and advice to help them live better with this devastating disease”. Joanne Dobbie, Head of Fundraising at Huntington’s Disease Association
