IRIS FMP’s Payroll Bureau provides Tessella with an excellent payroll processing service. Staff are knowledgeable, approachable and always available. Interaction is by internet, e-mail and phone, but it’s always a personal service with a smile.

Having had difficulties with our existing payroll provider, we successfully moved our operations to IRIS FMP’s Payroll Services in December 2011. At very short notice we switched to IRIS FMP’s fully managed solution, so all elements of payroll, including BACS payments to staff and HMRC are now dealt with. We sent data for over 150 employees on 5th December and staff were paid accurately and on time on 22nd December. This was an exceptionally quick turnaround given our circumstances.

Following a rigorous tender process we decided to select IRIS FMP’s Payroll Services team as our Payroll Services provider. We are looking for increased business efficiency, expertise and quality of knowledge and capability that will help with our growing business. IRIS FMP ticked all of the boxes with their Fully Managed Payroll solution.

Due to the nature of our business, including match day work, we have a diverse range of contracts – everything from casual workers, fixed term and part-time contracts – which can be challenging to manage considering the ever changing tax implications and legislation and regulations in the Payroll sector.

The expertise and quality of knowledge of our outsourced provider was a key element in selecting IRIS FMP, and the experience which they have in managing complex payrolls.

As the business continues to rapidly grow, we require a Payroll Services provider that can not only match our current demands, but also flex to grow with us – giving the extra man power when required. Having contingency and back-up provided by a responsive support team is also an important factor for us, plus being able to alleviate the basic Payroll needs of P60 and P11D runs, all of which IRIS FMP will provide to our organisation.

The service which we have received from IRIS FMP’s Payroll Services team has been outstanding. The initial set up was seamless as was the transfer of data – which gave us immediate confidence in the future of the system and in IRIS FMP as a supplier. IRIS FMP completely understood our business due to their knowledge and expertise in working with other businesses within the financial sector. The ease of working with IRIS FMP means that requirements can be sent across to be processed at the end of the month and we can be certain that they will be dealt with systematically and efficiently. As a provider, IRIS FMP really know what they are doing: not only do they understand our requirements; they have collaborated with us to ensure that our payroll needs are met at every step of the journey.

Processing payroll with our previous provider could take over a week. We would send them the relevant information and await feedback which could take in excess of three days to receive. We would then amend any errors and send back to the provider again. This went on until all of the information was correct a very time consuming and inefficient process. As well as this, we had no reporting capability, and with a UK payroll at a basic amount of 15m per month any discrepancies needed to be visible immediately.Throughout the tender process IRIS FMP was able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of payroll and its intricacies as well as an understanding of our business, in short they are payroll people who understand IT. Initially we were concerned that bringing parts of payroll back in-house would be time consuming. However, it is actually a far simpler process, and we can now see the effect of our changes in real-time, make changes to employee details and know that these changes have been logged. This has meant that there are now far fewer errors with a lot less delay.
